THE MISSION
The mission here is to educate everyone about snares, leghold and conibear traps. This sites goal is to get them banned 100 % in Michigan.
These traps rarely catch their intended target. Both wild AND domestic animals are caught in these barbaric traps and suffer beyond words!
We are asking everyone in Michigan to write their state representative and ask for these traps to be banned. The link is below.
Polls show that 78 percent of US citizens support a ban on these traps. 89 countries and 14 US states already have some sort of ban.
If anyone allowed a domestic animal to suffer the way animals in these traps suffer-they would be prosecuted!Based on that alone they should be illegal!
Trapping with body-gripping traps for "wildlife management" or disease control purposes is often ineffective and sometimes counterproductive because of the random nature of traps. There are other humane alternative live-capture devices such as box, cage, and culvert traps that can be used for these purposes.
As a result of public pressure, all 15-member nations of the European Union banned the leghold trap in 1995. More and more countries recognize the inherent cruelty of leghold traps and other body-gripping devices and seek research into humane capture alternatives.
WE ARE NOT TRYING TO BAN HUNTING-JUST TRAPPING! THEY ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS!! TRAPS ARE 100% ANIMAL CRUELTY!
